A new book “War” by Bob Woodward, the famed reporter who unearthed the extent of the White House cover-up of the Watergate break-in, which helped to bring down the Presidency of Richard Nixon, reveals the extent of the relationship between former President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Bob Woodward reports in his upcoming book, scheduled for release on the 15th of this month, that the former President has made as many as seven private phone calls to the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin since leaving office in January 2021, and secretly sent the Russian leader Covid-test machines at the height of the pandemic.
Woodward also details the extent of the frustrations plaguing President Biden concerning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netyanahu, as well as the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s assortment of burner phones.
Trump, of course, denies Woodwards reporting and allegations. He told ABC News’ Jonathan Karl that Woodward is a bad storyteller, basically calling him a liar, and that he's “lost his marbles.”
The former President previously spoke with Woodward for the reporter's 2021 book “Rage.” The reporter was later sued by Trump, who accused Woodward of publicly releasing the recordings of their interviews without his permission, an allegation which Woodward and the publisher denies.
In his book, Woodward reports that Trump asked an aide to leave his office at his residence at the Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, to allow Trump to have a private phone call with the Russian leader, earlier this year. According to the book, the aide, who Woodward leaves unnamed, says that several phone calls have been made between Trump and Putin since Trump left office, as many as seven, although no details were given about what might've been discussed.
